The highest mountain in the Alps with its peak of snow is for many a fascinating dream. Below are three itineraries to reach the summit.

French Normal Route
It is considered the classical way, through the Gouter refuge and then tackle the ridge des Bosses to the top.
First Day
Departure from St Gervais or Les Houches (France) and with ski lifts you reach the station of Nid d’Aigle (2372m.) Ascent to the Gouter refuge (3817m). Ascent : 1450 mt – 6 hours walk.
Second day
climb to the summit and return by the same route. Ascent : 1000 mt, descent : 2400 m – 10 -12 hours walk.

Italian Normal Route
The normal way of the Italian or the Pope is the most difficult and long among those proposed and for this reason the less frequented, grandiose and wild scenery, certainly the most beautiful and exciting.
First Day
Departure from Courmayeur Val Veny and ascent to the Gonella refuge (3071 m.). Ascent : 1400 mt /  4 – 5 hours walk.
Second day
Climb to the summit and return by the same route or by the French normal route, and then you catch the bus which brings you back to Courmayeur. Ascent : 1800 mt / 12 – 15 hours walk.

3 Monti Route
This route is one of the most frequented even if it is a quite delicate itinerary.
First Day
Departure from Chamonix or Courmayeur and ascent with the lifts until the Aiguille du Midi’s station (3840 ). In 40 min walk you reach the Cosmiques’ hut (3613 m). Descent : 200 mt.
Second day
climb to the summit and return by the same route. Ascent : 1400 mt / 9 -11 hours walk.
