An extraordinary high-altitude experience: Capanna Regina Margherita, perched on the summit of Punta Gnifetti (4,554 m), is the highest mountain hut in Europe.
Reaching it means living a true alpine adventure, surrounded by the vast glaciers of Monte Rosa and encircled by legendary peaks.
The Cervino Guides will lead you safely across the Lys Glacier, through a majestic and awe-inspiring environment, to this unique and panoramic summit.
Program – 2 Days
Day 1 – Approach and overnight in the hut
Meet in Staffal (Gressoney), ascent by lift to Punta Indren (3,275 m).
Short glacier approach to Rifugio Mantova (3,470 m) or Rifugio Gnifetti (3,647 m). Overnight stay.
Day 2 – Ascent to Capanna Margherita
Early-morning departure. Progressive ascent along the Lys Glacier, passing beneath the Lyskamm and the Piramide Vincent, up to Colle del Lys (4,250 m).
From here, magnificent views and the final climb to the Capanna Margherita (4,554 m).
Break, photos, and refreshments at the hut.
Descent along the same route and return to Punta Indren, then down by lift.
