A wild corner of the Alps waiting to be explored, skis on your feet
Tucked away in the western Aosta Valley, Valgrisenche is one of the most authentic and secluded destinations for ski mountaineering. Few lifts, no crowds, endless space, and often exceptional snow: the perfect setting for a multi-day tour with the Cervino Guides.
Thanks to its unique terrain, the valley offers an incredible variety of routes — from gentle slopes to more technical couloirs — all surrounded by towering alpine peaks. Our base camp will be Rifugio Giasson, a welcoming and strategically located hut that provides access to numerous ascents in the area. A place to breathe mountain silence, recharge your energy, and share the joy of adventure.
Suggested Program – 3 or More Days
Day 1 – Ascent to the hut and first summit
Meeting in Valgrisenche and skinning up to the hut. If conditions allow, we’ll climb a first panoramic peak such as Punta Feleuma (3,212 m) or Arp Vieille.
Overnight at Rifugio Giasson.
Day 2 – Main summit: Becca di Giasson or Pointe Tsanteleina
Climb one of the area’s most sought-after summits, such as Becca di Giasson (3,215 m). Descent via different routes depending on snow conditions. Return to Rifugio Giasson for a second night.
Day 3 – Final ascent and descent to the valley
Climb a secondary peak with spectacular views over the Rutor range and Mont Blanc massif. Then enjoy a long descent back to the valley. Farewell and return.
Optional: Extend the tour to 4 or 5 days with traverses to the Benevolo or Bezzi huts, for a true alpine ski.
