A unique journey among the giants of the Alps
Experience a ski mountaineering adventure across Italy and Switzerland, deep in the heart of the Monte Rosa massif, guided by an expert. This spectacular itinerary links Cervinia, Champoluc, Gressoney, and Zermatt, crossing majestic glacial landscapes and historic mountain huts. Participants may summit peaks over 4,000 meters or simply enjoy some of the finest freeride descents in the Alps.
Designed for intermediate ski mountaineers seeking a complete experience: skinning up challenging slopes, thrilling descents, breathtaking panoramas, and warm hospitality in high-altitude huts.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Cervinia > Champoluc > Rifugio Mantova or Gnifetti
Depart from Breuil-Cervinia using the lift system. Begin with a long descent above Champoluc, a stunning glacial environment. Take the cable car to Colle Bettaforca, then descend to Gressoney and ascend to Punta Indren via lifts. Short skinning section to Rifugio Mantova (3,470 m) or Rifugio Gnifetti (3,647 m). Overnight stay in the hut.
Day 2 – Lys Glacier > Monte Rosa Hütte
Ascend to Colle del Lys (4,250 m), offering panoramic views across much of the Alps. Optional summit over 4,000 m (e.g., Ludwigshöhe, Piramide Vincent, or Capanna Margherita), depending on conditions. Long descent into Switzerland to Monte Rosa Hütte, a modern alpine hut in a stunning, isolated location. Overnight stay.
Day 3 – Stockhornpass > Descent to Zermatt > Return to Cervinia
Final day of adventure: ascend to Stockhornpass (3,382 m), the gateway to the Zermatt side. From here, enjoy a spectacular descent with views of the Matterhorn, reaching the Zermatt lifts. Return to Cervinia via the lift system.
