A great high-altitude ride between Italy and Switzerland
The Breithorn Traverse is one of the most scenic and fascinating ridges in the Alps. Suspended between sky and glaciers, it crosses the Breithorn peaks: Western (4,165 m), Central (4,159 m), Eastern (4,100 m), and Roccia Nera (4,075 m) along an elegant and spectacular line.
Accompanied by the Cervino Guides, the traverse becomes an unforgettable experience: unique panoramas, safe progression, and the joy of experiencing high mountain in one of the most beautiful Alpine settings, between the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa, and Valais.
Two options
Half Traverse – Central and Western
Start from the Klein Matterhorn via lifts, climb to Central Breithorn (4,159 m), traverse the ridge to Western Breithorn (4,165 m), descend on the glacier, return to Cervinia.
Full Traverse – Roccia Nera to Western Breithorn
Start from Klein Matterhorn, climb Roccia Nera (4,075 m), traverse all Breithorn peaks, including rocky ridges, snow ridges, and rappels for a complete ascent. Final descent from Western Breithorn to the glacier, return to Cervinia.
