Two tailored itineraries: Normal Route with overnight at Rifugio Aosta, or climb from Cervinia via Albertini Ridge.

The Dent d’Hérens is the imposing western shoulder of the Matterhorn, it is elegant and less crowded, offering climbs in a severe but spectacular environment.

Options

Normal Route – Tiefenmatten Ridge: classic glacier route, overnight at Rifugio Aosta, ascent via Grandes Murailles glacier and Tiefenmatten ridge. An outstanding environment.

Albertini Ridge – From Cervinia: bold, less-traveled ridge, ascent possible in one, two, or three days. Private arrangement with guide.

 

Program – 2 days

Day 1: Meet in Bionaz, hike to Rifugio Aosta (2,781 m), overnight stay.

Day 2: Early start, traverse Grandes Murailles glacier to Col de Riedmatten, ascend Tiefenmatten ridge to Dent d’Hérens summit (4,171 m), descend same route, return to Rifugio Aosta and valley.
