We would like to inform you that the Carrel Hut will be closed this summer for renovation and is therefore inaccessible to mountaineers and mountain professionals. It will not be possible to bivouac near the hut.

"Once the emergency number is called, brief information will be asked about what happened, the exact location of the accident, how many people are involved, the medical condition of the injured and the weather conditions. One of the helicopters of the Soccorso Alpino Valdostano or Air Zermatt will arrive in a short time with specialised technicians and a doctor on board!"

GPS coordinates via mobile phone will also be requested if necessary.

IMPORTANT

Remember that the ascent to the Cresta del Leone on the Matterhorn is an alpine itinerary where experience and good training are indispensable. The first mountaineering difficulties are encountered well before the Capanna Carrel, which is why we recommend roped progression. Always take into account your mountaineering skills, your training and the progression you intend to use!
