We would like to inform you that the Carrel Hut will be closed this summer for renovation and is therefore inaccessible to mountaineers and mountain professionals. It will not be possible to bivouac near the hut.
From 22 July until the end of safety work on the site (a few days), the Italian route of the Cresta del Leone will be closed as per order number 47.
Information will follow.
We apologise for the inconvenience.
RULES OF CONDUCT
- Wait for the guide for bed assignment
- Leave the room tidy and fold the blankets
- Do not get on the beds with boots
- Take your waste downstream

“Once you have called the emergency number , brief information will be asked on what happened, the exact location of the accident, how many people were involved, the health conditions of the injured and the weather conditions. One of the helicopters of the Aosta Valley Alpine Rescue or of Air Zermatt will arrive in a short time with some specialized technicians and a doctor on board! “
GPS coordinates will also be requested via mobile phone.

We remind you that the ascent of the Matterhorn by the Lion ridge is a mountaineering itinerary where experience and good training are essential. The first mountaineering difficulties begin before the Carrel hut, so we recommend a roped up progression . Always taking into account your mountaineering skills, your training and the progression you intend to use!
