The booking is valid for one night only.

The ascent to the Matterhorn by the Lion ridge is normally done in 2 days with one night in the refuge.

To confirm the booking, a cellphone number and the names of all the participants who will climb the Matterhorn will be requested.

Presence of water / snow (usually at the beginning of the season there is some snow near the shelter that you can melt, but after a while it ends and you have to bring the water from below).

Presence of gas for cooking but no cookware of any kind (you should bring your own)

Presence of blankets but the SLEEPING BAG LINER is mandatory.

NO ELECTRIC CURRENT and NO POSSIBILITY to charge the cellphone.

Some slippers are available

RULES OF CONDUCT

  • Wait for the guide for bed assignment
  • Leave the room tidy and fold the blankets
  • Do not get on the beds with boots
  • Take your waste downstream

“Once you have called the emergency number , brief information will be asked on what happened, the exact location of the accident, how many people were involved, the health conditions of the injured and the weather conditions. One of the helicopters of the Aosta Valley Alpine Rescue or of Air Zermatt will arrive in a short time with some specialized technicians and a doctor on board! “
GPS coordinates will also be requested via mobile phone.

We remind you that the ascent of the Matterhorn by the Lion ridge is a mountaineering itinerary where experience and good training are essential. The first mountaineering difficulties begin before the Carrel hut, so we recommend a roped up progression . Always taking into account your mountaineering skills, your training and the progression you intend to use!
