ICE CLIMBING BASIC COURSE

COURSE STRUCTURE: 3 days
The course will initially take place at the Perreres ice park and then move according to needs and
conditions in other locations
SUBJECTS:
• Ice climbing equipment (ice axes, crampons, boots, clothing)
• Individual progression techniques for effective climbing
• Safety elements of the roped party on ice
• Lecture on objective and subjective dangers and risk minimization.
The first 2 outings will be dedicated to learning on single pitch ropes, while the last day
the exit will be dedicated to the ascent of an icefall and therefore to the management of the
roped on an itinerary of several lengths.
