Monte Rosa, Punta Dufour  by the Rey ridge (4633 m.)

The ascent to the Punta Dufour by the Rey ridge reconciles the use of crampons and of the ice ax with that of the hands, characteristics of a great complete route, with arrival on the highest peak of the Monte Rosa massif.

First day
departure from Gressoney la Trinité, locality Staffal, ascent with the lifts until Indren, dinner and overnight stay at the Mantova refuge (3455 m.) (Or as an alternative at the Gnifetti refuge 3610 m.).

Second day
ascent to Punta Dufour along the Rey ridge (10 to 12 hours walk and climb in total) or via the normal route, descent through the normal route via the Zumstein peak (4564 m.) Return to Gressoney with lifts.
